Steve Twitty – Gilbert, SC
I began my numismatic experience as a young man collecting with my Dad that continued off and on as many have experienced. My dealer experience began over 15 years ago with PQ Dollars on a part time basis that was strictly internet based. Working full-time for the State of SC and traveling part-time as a dealer with PQ Dollars afforded me the opportunity to build an inventory of premium quality silver dollars and spark my interest in the dealer side of the hobby.
In 2007, I retired from Law Enforcement for the State of South Carolina, and focused on running PQ Dollars full-time. I expanded my numismatic interests in 2010 with the opening of Gilbert Coin and Collectible Exchange, a local store front coin and collectible business in Gilbert, SC.
Today, I operate the local store front business and travel to local and national coin shows representing both PQ Dollars and Gilbert Coin Exchange. The store front is a submission center for PCGS, CAC, NGC, PCGS Currency, and PMG, and operates in compliance with the standards and guidelines expected of a professional numismatist.
As a Professional Numismatist:
I am a lifetime member of the following organizations: ANA, FUN (Florida United Numismatic), CSNS (Central States Numismatic Society), and The Silver Dollar Round Table.
I am current member of ITCA (Industry Council for Tangible Assets), BRNA (Blue Ridge Numismatic Association), GNA (Georgia Numismatic Association), TSNS Tennessee State Numismatic Society), CCE (Certified Coin Exchange), and Lexington County Chamber of Commerce.
As a professional numismatist and small business owner, I strive to conduct myself by the highest standards of the industry while fostering new and young collectors with both businesses.
In 2011, I established a "Coins for A's" program similar to the ANA youth program. Youths in the area are awarded a free collectible coin for every "A" on their report card each 9 weeks. During their visits to the shop, I offer paid youth memberships for these collectors to SCNA. Each 9 weeks, I see more new collectors to the hobby.
I am eager to become actively involved with the SCNA at the state and local level. Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding my experience or collecting interest in general. I am always happy to help and talk coins.
Bruce Arnold Getman – Hartwell, GA
My interest in coin collecting, especially world coinage and currency, was initiated from my birth into a military family, then stationed in occupied Japan; formed when my education began in Scotland; and continued through my own military service as a Russian translator in Berlin, Germany and Sinope, Turkey. This accumulation of coins and currency from around the globe is the foundation of my world collecting interest. One of my first memories is that of Queen Elizabeth II’s Scottish Coronation parade in Edinburg and the pageantry surrounding the event. At this time my father purchased commemorative mint sets for me and my brother, which I treasure to this day. In addition, United States type coins given to me by my grandmother over 50 years ago provided the impetus to read all I could on the subject and to faithfully fill blue Whitman holders with coins from circulation.
After serving in the USAF, I was employed by the US Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Washington, D.C., and have insider knowledge of currency production. I am a retired Letter Carrier with the US Postal Service. I am a 35 year member of NALC Branch#1871, which serves Anderson, Clemson, Abbeville, and most areas of South Carolina’s “Golden Corner” and have held various elected and volunteer offices within this organization, including president, national delegate, and annual food drive coordinator.
I set-up at numerous South Carolina and Georgia coin shows and am the owner/operator of Bruce’s World Coins. I am the Bourse Chairman for the successful recent Anderson Area Coin Club’s Annual Show. I am a member of the following numismatic organizations: SCNA (LM#150), BRNA (LM#2138), GNA (LM#288), ANA (#3124148), Anderson Area Coin Club (Charter#16), Augusta Coin Club (#100), and Myrtle Beach CC (#65).
If elected, I will work with our Society’s members and the SCNA Board to prioritize the following goals:
I believe the history of our State, Country, and World is revealed through the study of its coinage and currency and that the preservation of these items and pertaining literature is of the utmost importance to the future of our organization and numismatics in general. The SCNA should be in the forefront to archive numismatic materials electronically and to make them readily available to the membership as reference materials.
I strongly support the SCNA Young Numismatist (YN) program and I am willing to devote the necessary time to widen the availability of our YN educational and competition programs.
The Association should explore the possibility of having our convention at other venues in the state’s population centers, or in localities suited for our group of conventioneers. This approach is more equitable and fair to many members/participants and it introduces the hobby and the SCNA in other parts of the state.
The resources of the SCNA would be minimally impacted through proper budgeting of these projects. Thank you for your consideration.
Samuel E. Norris, III - Easley, SC

I am asking that you consider me for another term on the SCNA Board.
Darin Gallie – Florence, SC
My grandmother initiated my interest in collecting coins in the 1970's, by introducing me to wheat cents, and their availability in pocket change. It didn't take long until I was filling Whitman folders with every coin I came in contact with, while developing a particular interest in Winged Liberty dimes and Franklin half dollars. This continued up to the point of High school graduation, where the collection remained, but the collecting took a hiatus.
The collecting interest returned in 1998 with the advent of the Statehood quarters, and there has been no looking back since. The wheat cent, "Merc" dime and Franklin half folders have become Dansco albums, and they are all full. As are the Jefferson nickels, Roosevelt dimes, Indian Head cents (minus 2), Kennedy half dollars Eisenhower dollars and Washington quarters. The current collecting focus is VG-10 Barber half dollars, and an AU+ Type set.
I am a charter member of the Pee Dee Area Coin Club (2007), served two terms as the club's first Vice President, one term as President, and have been the club's first (and current) Bourse Chairman. In addition to the PDACC, I am also a member of SCNA, NCNA, and ANA. I am proud to have represented the PDACC on the SCNA Board for the last two years, and believe I can continue to add constructive opinion to the board.
